How to reach the conference venue:

FROM NAPLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:

BY BUS
There are 6 daily direct bus-links from Naples International Airport of Capodichino to Sorrento, provided vy CURRERI (see the TIMETABLE). Take this bus right at the exit of Terminal 1 and take off at the very last stop (Sorrento).
The fare takes about 1h 15m. The ticket costs 10 Euros and can be purchased directly on board.
The bus stops near Sorrento railway station, from where you can reach the hotel by taxi or shuttle (see at the very end of this page). Alternatively, you can get off at the last-but-one stop (Sant'Agnello stop), which is about 10 minutes walking from the Conference hotel (see map below).

BY TRAIN
From the airport you must reach Naples main railway station (Napoli Centrale-Piazza Garibaldi). You can take the bus by ALIBUS (see the alibus timetable). Bus stop is located at the exit of Terminal 1. The fare takes 15-10m. The ticket costs 3 Euros and can be purchased directly on board or at the Sun store shop (in the airport). You can also reach the station by taxi. Please ask for a predetermined fare, which is about 13-15 Euros. From Naples railway station to Sorrento, please see below.

BY HYDROFOIL
From the airport you must reach Naples harbour "Moro Beverello", near Piazza Municipio. To get there, you can take the bus by ALIBUS (see the alibus timetable). Bus stop is located at the exit of Terminal 1. The fare takes 30-35m. The ticket costs 3 Euros and can be purchased directly on board or at the Sun store shop (in the airport). You can also reach the harbour by taxi. Please ask for a predetermined fare, which is about 25-30 Euros. From Naples harbour to Sorrento, please see below.

BY PRIVATE SHUTTLE
Alternative solution is the private shuttle service (see, for instance: shuttle service)

FROM NAPLES TRAIN STATION:

Trains from Naples to Sorrento (CIRCUMVESUVIANA) leave from the main station (Stazione Napoli Centrale on Piazza Garibaldi) about every half-hour between 06:00 and 23:00 every day, and the journey can take between 45 minutes and 1.25 hours (depending on the train). You can buy tickets for the Circumvesuviana from a ticket booth or an automated machine, and a simple one-way ticket will cost 4 Euros. The timetable is available here TIMETABLE (please enter: NAPOLI GARIBALDI (STAZIONE CENTRALE F.S.) for departure and SORRENTO for arrival). Also note that the part of Napoli Centrale station dedicated to the Circumvesuviana is downstairs from the regular trains. The train terminates at Sorrento railway station, from where you can reach the hotel by taxi or shuttle (see at the very end of this page). Alternatively, you can get off at Sant'Agnello railway station, which is about 10 minutes walking from the Conference hotel (see map below).

FROM NAPLES HARBOUR MOLO BEVERELLO:

The hydrofoil is probably your fastest option from Naples to Sorrento. Hydrofoils are operated by Alilauro (see timetable here ALILAURO ) and depart from the pier called Moro Beverello in Naples near the Piazza Municipio. (NOTE that usually in May there are two additional departures at 18.35 and 19.20). The trip will take roughly 40 minutes one-way and a one-way ticket will cost 11 Euros. Once you get to Sorrento harbour, you can take a taxi to the hotel, which is about 1.8 Km away. A courtesy shuttle service will be also available for the guests of the conference hotel. FROM NAPLES, BY CAR:

Travelling by car from Naples is approximately 50kms (approx. 31 miles), driving along the A3 Highway. Exit at Castellammare di Stabia, and take the road "SS Sorrentine 145" to Sorrento. Please note that toll-fees are to be paid when moving around the extra-urban areas, joining freeways and highways. Keep smaller change available.

FROM SORRENTO RAIL STATION AND BUS STOP TO THE CONFERENCE VENUE:

If you arrive to Sorrento by Circumvesuviana train or by CURRERI bus, you get off at Sorrento railway station, which is approximately 2 km far from the conference venue. You can get to the conference hotel by taxi. A courtesy shuttle service will be also available for the guests of the conference hotels. This service must be booked in advance: if you need it, please send a request to: info@spi2012.org

FROM SANT'AGNELLO RAIL STATION AND BUS STOP TO THE CONFERENCE VENUE:

If you get off the Circumvesuviana train or the CURRERI bus at Sant'Agnello (the last-but-one stop), you are left about 1Km from the conference hotel, about 10 minutes walking following the directions indicated in the map below.
